Summary

This fund offers support to help schools address food insecurity among their students. The idea is to provide resources for things like food supplies, healthy snacks, meal provision, maybe even pantry programs or related infrastructure — anything that helps ensure kids aren’t starting the school day hungry.

Only schools or school-based programs nonprofit partners may apply. Regular businesses or individual applicants are not eligible. The funding is targeted toward schools, but administered by qualified nonprofit/public bodies.

The grant amounts aren’t huge — the general grants tend to go up to CAD $5,000, depending on the specific fund and needs. For this school nutrition fund, the disbursements will be proportionate to the number of students in the applying school, so larger schools may receive more.

This funding is intended as one‑time or periodic contributions rather than meant for long‑term operational support. Encourages using the funds in ways that build sustainable school nutrition (for example, boosting capacity, setting up supplies, supporting snack or meal programs).

Schools will need to demonstrate need, student numbers, and how the funding will be used to support student nutrition.

Organizations and individuals based in Ontario who are engaged in Students may be eligible to apply for this funding opportunity. To discover more grants that align with your mission and objectives, visit The Grant Portal and explore listings using the Search Grant tool.
