Pathways to Potential: Comprehensive Grant Support for BIPOC Youth in Ontario (Canada)
GrantID: 74090
Grant Funding Amount Low: $25,000
Deadline: Ongoing
Grant Amount High: $100,000
Summary
A community-focused grant opportunity is now available to support youth development and well-being in under-resourced urban areas across multiple U.S. cities. Designed to empower young people—especially those from Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color—the funding seeks to bridge gaps in health, wealth, education, and opportunity.
Open primarily to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, the initiative also encourages engagement from groups led by people of color and those with demonstrated connections to the communities they serve. Grants typically range from $25,000 to $100,000 (some awards support program delivery, others capital enhancements) and are awarded for one-year efforts. Eligible cities include major metro areas across states like Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, California, and the District of Columbia
Projects may focus on youth health and wellness, mentoring, life‑skills development, academic success, sports and recreation, or career-readiness programming. Applicants should be well-established nonprofits with at least one full-time staffer dedicated to youth work, with a track record of impactful programming and active community engagement. Priority is given to grassroots, developmental-stage organizations that can benefit most from capacity-building support. Some grants also encourage small local businesses, or are structured to include volunteer involvement through partner organizations.
The intent of these funds is multifaceted: improving community health, promoting equitable access to resources, enhancing youth leadership, and laying the groundwork for sustainable, longer-term growth. Eligible uses include both operational costs and capital investments—such as facility upgrades for sports or mentorship programs—provided the effort aligns with the goals of empowering youth and fostering community resilience
